OV-GEL, Viscoelastic Surgical Fluid

1.5ml 10-Pack

OV-GEL for canine and feline eye surgery

OV-GEL HPMC (hydroxypropyl methycellulose) is an optically clear fluid of high static viscosity, formulated from a dilute solution of a non-proteinaceous high molecular weight synthetic carbohydrate polymer. OV-GEL integrates this synthetic polymer with a solution of metabolically critical salts and buffers that mimic the characteristics of the human aqueous, including osmolality, ionic strength, and pH of 7.2 +/- 0.2.

The product is intended to serve as a space-occupying, tissue protective fluid and lubricant for use during ophthalmic surgery. OV-GEL provides excellent lubrication between injectors and foldable IOLs and other eye surgeries.

OV-GEL is supplied in a volume of 1.5 ml glass syringe with a 23 gauge cannula, packaged in an aseptic transfer peel pouch. OV-GEL should be stored at room temperature.

OV-GEL, Sodium Hyaluronate

1.5ml 6-Pack

OV-GEL for canine and feline eye surgeryOV-GEL sodium hyaluronate is an optically clear fluid with zero shear viscosity of 50,000 cps +/- 10,000 cps, formulated from sodium hyaluronate derived from bacterial fermentation. The sodium hyaluronate is integrated with a solution of metabolically critical salts and buffers that mimic the characteristics of the human aqueous, including osmolality, ionic strength, and pH of 7.2 +/- 0.2.

The product is intended to serve as a space-occupying, tissue protective fluid and lubricant for use during ophthalmic surgery. OV-GEL provides excellent lubrication between injectors and foldable IOLs and other eye surgeries.

OV-GEL is supplied in a volume of 1.5 ml glass syringe with a 27 gauge cannula, packaged in an aseptic transfer peel pouch. Refrigeration is not necessary to keep it safe for surgery. However, heat is known to break the chains of sodium hyaluronate, which leads to the loss of viscosity, so refrigeration between +2º and +8º Celsius is recommended.
